Who we are
johnnyova.com is the website of The Dig In Podcast with Johnny Ova, a weekly interview show with biblical scholars, archaeologists, theologians, historians and skeptics, hosted by Johnny Ova on Long Island, New York. In this policy, "we," "us" and "the show" mean The Dig In Podcast with Johnny Ova.
What we collect
We collect a small amount of information, from five sources.
Information you type into a form
When you fill out a form on this site, such as the email signup, a guest pitch, a partner inquiry or a contact message, we receive what you enter. That is usually your name and email address, plus anything you write in the message. Our forms and email list run on GoHighLevel, a customer relationship and email platform, so what you submit is stored in our GoHighLevel account.
Standard server logs
Like nearly every website, the server that hosts johnnyova.com automatically records basic technical details with each visit: your IP address, browser type, the page you requested, the page that sent you here, and the date and time.
YouTube players and images
Episode videos are embedded from YouTube, which is owned by Google. When a YouTube player loads or you play a video, YouTube may set cookies and collect information about your device and viewing, under Google's privacy policy. Episode thumbnails and the latest episode details also load from YouTube's servers, which receive standard request information such as your IP address.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site, such as which pages and episodes get visited and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects information like pages viewed, time on page, device and browser type, and an approximate location based on your IP address. We look at these numbers as totals, never as a file on one person, and use them to make the show and the site better. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google Fonts
The typefaces on this site load from Google Fonts. To display them, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information.
How we use it
If you sign up for email, we use your name and email address to send you new episodes and show updates. If you send a guest pitch, a partner inquiry or a message, we use what you wrote to read it and respond. Analytics and server log information is used to see what is working, keep the site running and protect it from misuse.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run parts of this site for us: GoHighLevel for forms and email, our web host for the server, and Google for analytics, YouTube video and fonts. Each of them handles that information under its own privacy terms.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Your email signup stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Messages sent through a form are kept as long as we need them to respond and follow up. Server logs are kept only as long as our hosting provider needs them to run and secure the site.
Your choices
Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
To ask for a copy of the information you have sent us, or to have it deleted, send a request through the contact form on our contact page.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage what YouTube and Google keep through your Google account. Blocking cookies does not stop the site from working.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information through a form, let us know through the contact form on our contact page and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. This version is effective October 7, 2026.
